Two Canadians to fight on UFC Nashville card

TORONTO - Canadian Alexis Davis, ranked fifth among UFC flyweight contenders, will face No. 11 Jennifer Maia of Brazil on March 23 in Nashville.

The televised Bridgestone Arena card will also showcase Canadian Randa (Quiet Storm) Markos, ranked 14th among strawweights, against American Angela (Overkill) Hill.

Davis and Markos are currently the highest-ranked Canadian women in the UFC.

The main event features fourth-ranked welterweight Stephen (Wonder Boy) Thompson (14-3-1) against former lightweight title-holder Anthony (Showtime) Pettis (21-8-0), moving up to 170 pounds.

Davis (19-8-0) is coming off a submission loss to third-ranked Katlyn Chookagian in July. The 34-year-old from Niagara Falls, Ont., who trains out of San Jose, had won her two previous fights. …
