Blues Not Willing to Break the Bank for Ajax Star

CITY have 'given up' in their attempts to sign Ajax midfielder Frenkie De Jong, after Paris Saint-Germain offered more than double what the Blues were willing to spend on the Dutchman's wages, according to reports.

It is reported the Blues are willing to pay £50m for the 21-year-old, with £100,000-a-week wages, and the player is said to be open to playing under Pep Guardiola.

But with Barcelona and PSG also strongly in the running, the French champions are reported to have matched City's bid but are willing to double the salary to £200,000-aweek.

The Blues missed out on target Jorginho who moved to Chelsea in the summer, and were unwilling to pay the reported £400,000-a-week for Alexis Sanchez in January last year as the forward signed for United. …
