UNITED are expected to sign off more loan moves for U23 players before the end of the January transfer window.

M.E.N. Sport revealed caretaker coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had blocked proposed loans some of the high-profile youngsters had lined up - with Angel Gomes among them - but more fringe figures are set to leave this month. Midfielder Ethan Hamilton has already moved to League One Rochdale until the end of the season while defender Regan Poole rejoined League Two side Newport County last week.

Matty Willock, who returned from an unsuccessful loan with St Mirren, is working on another move, either on loan or permanent, as he approaches the final months of his United contract. Willock, 22, accepts his future lies away from United but is keen to join an English club following underwhelming stints in the Scottish Premiership with St Mirren and St Johnstone. …
