WINNIPEG. x-08s. The best friend of a woman killed during a botched robbery says the victim was like a butterfly -- beautiful, small and strong. Melissa Stevenson told a Winnipeg sentencing hearing today that Jeanenne Fontaine struggled with addiction after the body of her cousin, Tina Fontaine, was found three years earlier in the Red River. Jeanenne was killed when three men came to collect on a drug debt her boyfriend owed. Christopher Brass, found guilty last weekend of manslaughter, was sentenced today to 15 years. Stevenson says it will help family and friends grieve.
