The apology was presented in court today as David Young pleaded guilty to failing to comply with safety instructions and resisting arrest.

Details read in court said he is a recovering alcoholic who had six drinks at the airport before boarding the flight to London on January 4th.

The Crown and defence are seeking restitution as a penalty when he is sentenced next week. (CBC Calgary)

The Transportation Safety Board says railways and road authorities must set up a system to share information where they also share a common drainage basin.

It makes the calls in a report into a Via Rail train derailment last July in eastern Saskatchewan where two crew members sustained minor injuries.

The T-S-B says C-N Rail found culverts were operating properly to divert heavy rains on tracks the night before the derailment but a highway breach to the west flooded the tracks, causing them to loose support.

The board says there were no protocols for Saskatchewan's transport ministry and the railway to share information. (The Canadian Press)
