DALE suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Barnsley despite a rousing performance at Oakwell.

Ian Henderson's 16th goal of the season put Dale in front shortly after the break, with the skipper converting Jim McNulty's fine through ball.

Kieffer Moore equalised five minutes later, before Cauley Woodrow's goal in the 74th minute secured all three points for the home side.

"I thought the performance levels were decent. We took an excellent side, one of the best in the league, all the way. They had to work hard for their victory," said manager Keith Hill.

"They are always on the front foot and we had to stand up against that. I think that that's the jostle where you are working each other out. We then took the lead but it's a great finish from Kieffer Moore for their first goal. …
