FRIDAY: Club Cafe on the South Side has a night of local music, starting with the Pittsburgh Songwriters Showcase at 6:30 p.m. featuring Nathan Zoob, Tim Vitullo, Aris Paul, Gary Prisby and Samantha Sears. $10. FRIDAY-SATURDAY: David Bowie plays a humanoid alien who hatches a plan to take water back to his drought-stricken planet in "The Man Who Fell to Earth," Nicholas Roeg's 1976 cult classic. The plot is a little scattered, but the imagery is surreal and stunning, and this will be the 4K restoration at the Carnegie Science Center's Rangos Giant Cinema, North Shore. Because of contractual complications, there is no Bowie music. Instead, it was coordinated by John Phillips of The Mamas & the Papas and includes some of his music, along with Louis Armstrong, The Kingston Trio, Roy Orbison and more. …
