MOOSE JAW, Sask. - A New Brunswick brewery has donated $25,000 to the cause of making a beloved Saskatchewan moose statue the tallest in the world once again.

Trevor Grant, with Moosehead Breweries, says it felt like a no-brainer for the company to help get Moose Jaw's Mac the Moose back on top.

Mac held the title of world's tallest moose statue for decades at almost 10 metres high.

But Norway recently erected a silver moose that edges out Mac by 30 centimetres.

Grant says a moose has been has been a part of the brewery's brand since 1933.

A $50,000 GoFundMe campaign has been launched to fund Mac's renovation and $12,000 had been raised before the Moosehead donation Wednesday morning.

"We've never been one to back down from a fight and we do recognize that same resilience and sort of fighting spirit in Mac the Moose," Grant said Wednesday. …
