Three crew members have been killed after a Canadian Pacific freight train plunged more than 60 metres into Kicking Horse River from a bridge near the Alberta-British Columbia boundary.

The westbound freight train jumped the tracks at about 1 a-m Monday near Field, B-C.

The crew -- a locomotive engineer, a conductor and a conductor trainee -- was based out of Calgary.

The B-C Environment Ministry says it's not clear if frigid temperatures played a role.

The Transportation Safety Board has sent a team of investigators to the site. (18)

Prosecutor Michael Cantlon says McArthur strangled his victims and posed the bodies for photos, which he kept on his computer.

Cantlon said -- quote -- ''For years, members of L-G-B-T-Q community believed they were being targeted by a killer -- they were right.'' (18)
