Vinny's Big Night Raises £216K to Help Homeless

MORE than £200,000 was raised at Vincent Kompany's testimonial dinner, it has been revealed.

The legendary Blues defender is celebrating his 10th season at the Etihad and is entitled to a number of events to mark it from the club.

He announced last September that all proceeds would go to the mayor's homelessness fund through a specially set-up funding vehicle, Tackle 4 MCR.

He told the M.E.N. he hopes to raise up to a million pounds from testimonial events by the end of the year. The money generated from tables, the auction and other initiatives at Tuesday night's testimonial gala dinner alone generated a total of £216,000 organisers said - and all the money raised will go towards the Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham's Bed Every Night scheme they confirmed. …
