KThe British motto holds very true for the Eurovision Song Contest, which we gamely take part in every year, hanging onto the dream that one day we'll win again.

Our 1997 success with Katrina and the Waves seems an awfully long time ago now.

But onwards, and in spite of the threat of Brexit, it's time to put ourselves forward in this European competition while we still can.

Last year the UK's entry was SuRie, who crashed out in 24th place out of 26, having bravely carried on despite a man storming the stage and shouting into the microphone. But tonight you have a chance to vote for 2019's entry. And fingers crossed for more than nil points when the time comes.
