Rockwood School District Board Selects New Superintendent

ST. LOUIS COUNTY > Rockwood selects next superintendent - The Rockwood Board of Education voted unanimously to select a superintendent from Ohio to fill the district's top post, the board announced Thursday.

Mark Miles will start work on July 1, when current superintendent Eric Knost retires.

Miles has been the superintendent of the Indian Hill Exempted Village School District in Cincinnati since 2012.

Earlier, Miles served as deputy superintendent in the Park Hill School District in Kansas City, and prior to that he served as assistant superintendent and as a middle school principal.

Rockwood is St. Louis County's largest school district, serving more than 20,000 students across 150 square miles.

"We are impressed with Dr. Miles, and we are so pleased that he has agreed to join our school district," Board President Loralee Mondl said in a statement. …
