Knicks Fall to Sixers, Hope for Their Kind of Success

NEW YORK — Not that long ago, the Philadelphia 76ers were perpetual losers. They endured an avalanche of losses year after year, believing there was success on the other side of the pain. They acquired high draft picks, hit on some and missed on others. They made some savvy trades and signed veteran free agents to fortify a young roster.

When Brett Brown's Sixers walked into Madison Square Garden Wednesday, they boasted one of the most formidable starting lineups in the NBA and owned the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference. Their process worked. Will the Knicks' version prove successful?

Time will tell.

In the meantime, the Knicks' losing continues, the latest defeat – their 18th straight – a 126-111 loss to the Sixers.
