FRANCO Manca, the hugely successful sourdough pizzeria chain, has set its sights on Manchester.

The brand has expanded rapidly in the last decade, with 34 branches across London and nine elsewhere in the UK.

Now, job adverts have appeared for an assistant manager position at a 'brand new Manchester restaurant', confirming that a move to the city is firmly on the cards.

Franco Manca's success really rocketed in 2008, when Giuseppe Mascoli and Bridget Hugo took over the reins of the Brixton Market pizzeria, Francos.

They renamed it to its now-recognisable Franco Manca (Italian for 'Franco is missing') and developed the slow-rising sourdough bases that are now synonymous with the brand.

Although the group has expanded fast and wide, it hasn't made it any further north than Cambridge until now.

Franco Manca has also confirmed a new site in Edinburgh. …
