UNITED always knew it was going to be difficult replacing Sir Alex Ferguson, but they probably didn't predict it to go as badly as it has done.

The task of replacing the legendary Scottish manager was always going to be an impossible job and six years on from Ferguson's retirement the evidence is there to see.

David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho have all been and gone since Ferguson stepped down after 26-years in charge at Old Trafford.

Following the publication of the club's latest financial figures on Thursday afternoon it has now been revealed the club have spent £33.2m on sacking managers and their staff since Ferguson left the club.
