SALFORD City's run of just two wins in their last nine in the National League has seen them slide to fifth, six points behind leaders Solihull Moors.

The Ammies host 21st placed Dover Athletic today - with new joint owner David Beckham watching on from the stands - but having crashed to defeats against Braintree Town (24th) in the league and Maidstone United (23rd) in the FA Trophy in the last two games, three points are far from guaranteed.

Both FC United and Ashton United have potentially season defining home games in the National League North this weekend, with the former facing Guiseley, and the latter facing Hereford.

Guiseley and Hereford are two of the teams that the region's relegationthreatened sides must pull into the mire if they are to survive.

Ashton have won two of their last three and have at least one game in hand on those above, but the outlook is bleak for FC United, who have registered just one win in ten. …
