Head of Pittsburgh Regional Alliance to Step Down in March

The president of the Pittsburgh region's economic development marketing organization is stepping down next month.

David Ruppersberger, president of the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance, led the group for four years as it negotiated more than 140 investments across the 10-county southwestern Pennsylvania region. Among those projects, the group was involved in efforts to bring the $6 billion Shell Chemicals Pennsylvania plant currently under construction in Beaver County.

Mr. Ruppersberger's departure will be effective March 15, according to a press release from the Allegheny Conference on Community Development. The alliance is an affiliate of the Allegheny Conference.

In the announcement, Mr. Ruppersberger did not say what is next for him.

"I'm thankful for the opportunity I've had to work with such a talented team - one that's truly dedicated to the region's success," he said. …
