VANCOUVER. x-11s. Many remote Indigenous communities still rely on diesel for heating and electricity and the federal government has announced a 20 million dollar initiative to change that. Nicholas Mercer, a P-h-D candidate at the University of Waterloo and an expert on remote off-grid communities, says more money is needed.
