CALGARY. x-12s. Alberta Environment Minister Shannon Phillips says a new 20-year contract to supply about half of the government's annual power consumption will save 3.9 million dollars per year compared with the current expiring contracts. Partners Canadian Solar Solutions of Guelph, Ontario and Conklin Metis Local 193 of southern Alberta were selected from 19 bidders. John Gorman, C-E-O of the Canadian Solar Industries Association, says the winning bid of 4.8 cents per kilowatt-hour is very low.
