(Canadians-Haiti)

Among the dozens of Canadians who've been trapped in Haiti by anti-government street protests have been missionaries, medical personnel, tourists and students.

Many had to travel to the airport by helicopter because the roads have been blocked by burning tires and armed protesters.

They include 24 missionaries from the Alberta-based group Haiti Arise who were flown out of Port-au-Prince to Florida late Saturday, and 113 Quebec tourists who'd been trapped at a Haitian resort and were flown to Montreal Saturday night.

Air Transat said some high-school students and chaperones from Victoriaville, Quebec who'd been on a humanitarian trip were expected to land in Montreal Sunday evening, as were 26 Christian missionaries based out of Montreal. (2)

(US-Trump-Venezuela-Aid)

After spending the weekend at his Mar-a-Lago retreat in Palm Beach, Florida, U-S President Trump will deliver remarks on Venezuela in Miami this afternoon.

Trump is expected to reaffirm his support for congressional leader Juan Guaido (gwy-DOH'), who is also recognized by Canada and many European countries as Venezuela's legitimate president.

The U-S is sending relief supplies to Colombia for Venezuelans in need, but the aid has been blocked from entry as the Maduro regime denies there is a humanitarian crisis. (2)

(HEALTH-Eat-Smart-Salad-Recall)

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says certain Eat Smart brand Sweet Kale Vegetable Salad Bags are being recalled due to possible Listeria contamination.

The affected product was sold in Ontario, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and possibly other provinces, in 340-gram packages with a best before date of February 16th.

There have been no reports of illnesses linked to the salad bags. (2)
