A UNITED supporter has apologised after throwing an empty Pringles tube at his own fans.

Joshua Nahim saw red during United's game against Liverpool at Anfield in December.

During the game, which Liverpool won 3-1, Nahim, of Oldham, was seen throwing the crisp container in away end, the Liverpool Echo reports.

The 22-year-old appeared at Sefton magistrates' court in Liverpool yesterday, where he narrowly escaped a football banning order.

And after the hearing Nahim, of Briarmere Walk, Chadderton, told the Liverpool Echo that he was sorry for what happened on December 16.

Nahim, who pleaded guilty to a disorder charge, said: "That's [the sentence] fair enough. I can't complain. "My priority was not getting a football banning order."

Nahim said he followed United at most home and away games. …
