THE Football Association in Manchester is investigating claims a 10-year-old boy lost an eye after his glasses broke when he was hit in the face with a ball during a junior match.

A post detailing the alleged incident is being shared by junior football clubs across Manchester and the north west on Facebook.

But despite the Facebook post citing the FA in Manchester as having issued guidance, the say they have not received any official report or confirmation.

Officials have been contacting junior leagues across Greater Manchester and Cheshire, as well as the football associations of neighbouring counties, in a bid to clarify the accuracy of the claims.

The youngster was said in the Facebook post to have been playing in north Manchester when his glasses broke up into his eye after he was hit in the face with the ball. …
