Mata 'Gutted' to Be Forced off Early against Liverpool

JUAN Mata admitted he was 'gutted' to be forced off in the first half of United's goalless draw against Liverpool.

The Spaniard had started the game but had to be replaced by Jesse Lingard after just 25 minutes after picking up what appeared to be a hamstring injury.

Mata was one of three United players injured in the first half with Ander Herrera having to be replaced by Andreas Pereira while Lingard was replaced himself shortly before the break by Alexis Sanchez.

Mata spoke of his disappointment on his Instagram page, posting: "Out of all games it had to be this one.

"Gutted to be forced to leave the pitch today. The team effort was unbelievable, really proud of our fans and my teammates."

Mata also spoke about his injury in his weekly blog and praised his team after the first half injury crisis. …
