Emsworth Developer Assembles Land for Mckees Rocks Transportation Center

A company that aims to redevelop a former brownfield in McKees Rocks into a shipping and transportation center said it has acquired the last two pieces of land needed for the project.

Trinity Commercial Development of Emsworth said it closed in December on two parcels formerly occupied by the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad maintenance operations.

The price was not disclosed.

Trinity has assembled 27 parcels on 32 acres for what it calls the "Rocks Multimodal Park," a development that will try to attract firms engaged in shipping, logistics and other transportation businesses.

Trinity said its development will complement a $70 million intermodal terminal that CSX operates on about 50 acres of adjacent property in Stowe.

Speedway plans to construct a commercial fueling station and convenience store on five acres near the entrance to the CSX terminal. …
