Shakers Keen to Keep Up Pressure on Imps

BURY welcome Macclesfield Town to Gigg Lane today looking to bounce back from their 3-0 defeat to Portsmouth in the Checkatrade Trophy.

The Shakers' hopes of reaching Wembley were dashed on Tuesday night by three second-half goals for the League One side, and the loss also saw their 12-match unbeaten run come to an end.

However, they sit second in League Two and are in a good position to earn promotion.

Last weekend's 3-1 win over Oldham took Bury to 66 goals in the league, more than any other side in the division.

The victory also kept them in touch with top-of-the-table Lincoln, who are three points ahead. The Red Imps could only draw their game in hand 1-1 against Exeter in midweek.
