P23 - (SNC-Lavalin) OTTAWA. x-18s. An emergency debate is on tonight in the House of Commons on the S-N-C Lavalin Affair, but the major party leaders are staying away. Liberal Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Justice Arif Virani responded to Conservative House Leader Candice Bergen, who quoted former attorney general Jody Wilson-Raybould's testimony before the justice committee. He pointed out that Wilson-Raybould said a number of things indicating no wrongdoing by the P-M-O in trying to help S-N-C Lavalin to avoid criminal prosecution. ("..never directed.")
