ST. LOUIS > Arrests down at Soulard Mardi Gras - Middle age could be mellowing Mardi Gras in Soulard. Fewer than 20 people were arrested as of Saturday afternoon at the 40th annual parade and party.

The event typically draws more than 100,000 revelers annually.

By far, the biggest problem for police Saturday was minors in possession of alcohol.

One person was arrested for urinating in public, three for assault and 15 more arrests or court summonses were issued for underage drinking, according to St. Louis police.

A final tally will be available Monday, police said.

The same preliminary reports showed 24 arrests at the Mardi Gras celebration in 2018 and 44 in 2017.
