Pressure Now on Leaders City, Says Liverpool Defender

CITY overtook Liverpool in the Premier League table this weekend with a hard-fought win over Bournemouth coupled with a 0-0 draw in the Merseyside derby.

City beat Bournemouth thanks to a Riyad Mahrez goal on Saturday to move two points above Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp's men had the chance to reclaim top spot with a win over Merseyside rivals Everton, but could only draw at Goodison Park to keep City in first place.

It is the first time since December that City are above Liverpool in the title race with both teams having played the same number of games, and Liverpool's players wasted no time in attempting to pile the pressure on their rivals.

Captain Jordan Henderson said: "You've got to stay confident, stay positive. We'll take it game by game. There's still quite a few games to go, so that's what we'll keep doing from now until the end of the season. …
