SUGAR-FREE brownies sounds like a tricky recipe.

But the 1st Boothstown pack has managed it.

They have created a new badge which could help stop the rot of tooth decay in Salford - and across the country.

Figures released last year revealed five-year-olds in Salford, Oldham and Rochdale are six times more likely to have decay than children in Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt's leafy Surrey constituency.

The British Dental Association, which published the findings, called for politicians in Greater Manchester to reduce the availability of sugary foods in schools and expand dental initiatives across the region.

The Boothstown Brownies have done their bit with a new 'Sugar Smart' badge. They developed it in partnership with Salford council, Salford Clinical Commissioning Group and Salford Community Leisure. …
