Mahrez: We Had to Be Patient against Bournemouth

CITY'S goal hero Riyad Mahrez has revealed the cautious approach his side took at Bournemouth as they recorded another important win in the Premier League.

The Blues - suffering from injuries to key players - were more pragmatic than usual on the south coast, and needed a second-half strike from Mahrez to earn the three points.

The win moved City top of the Premier League, and was hailed by Pep Guardiola as 'one of the best performances we ever played'.

The Blues were playing their fifth game in 20 days, and were without Fernandinho, Aymeric Laporte, Benjamin Mendy and Fabian Delph though injury. The win was made even more impressive with Kevin de Bruyne and John Stones added to the injury list during the game.

And Mahrez revealed the approach at Bournemouth was one of caution and patience, as opposed to their free-flowing attacking style that fans have become used to. …
