CITY'S players are desperate to win as many trophies as they can to give manager Manuel Pellegrini a big send-off.

Goalkeeper Joe Hart was one of the heroes of a gritty 1-0 win at Sunderland which keeps the Blues in touch with Premier League leaders Leicester, who will be leapfrogged if City beat them at the Etihad on Saturday.

And he paid a heart-felt tribute to Pellegrini, who announced on Monday that he will step down as manager on June 30 - Pep Guardiola will replace him.

Hart said that the news will not affect the mentality of the squad.

"We are a professional group who really enjoy playing under Manuel," he said.

"He has been a top manager for us and his man-management has been something I have personally enjoyed so we will look to give him the best send-off he deserves. …
