BURY could go top of the League Two today if they beat play-off chasers Stevenage at the Lamex Stadium.

The Shakers made it 12 games unbeaten in the league in midweek after on-loan defender Scott Wharton grabbed his second goal in as many games to earn a point at Cheltenham.

That put them within two points of leaders Lincoln, but they have played a game more.

Today's opponents have not won in their last four league outings, most recently snatching a point at Oldham last weekend thanks to a late goal from forwad Kurtis Guthrie.

That has seen Dino Maamria's side slip to 11th, five points off Forest Green who currently occupy the last play-off spot.

Four goals in the final half-an-hour saw Bury emerge 4-0 winners when the two sides last met, as Ryan Lowe's side began to climb the table back in November. …
