Pep Hopes Blues Fans Are Starting to Love Competition

PEP Guardiola feels City fans are beginning to enjoy the Champions League.

The boos that ring out at the Etihad for the competition anthem predate the manager's arrival, and a boss that has won the tournament twice as a coach has grappled with the attitude shown towards it from the Blues fanbase.

After his first home game in the Champions League proper with the Blues, against Borussia Monchengladbach in September 2016, Guardiola called on the supporters to 'forget what has happened in the past'.

That plea was not listened to, and caused the manager earlier this season to suggest he did not feel the fans were pushing the team on to victory.
