Webb Keeps His Cool in Boiling Hot Malaysia

AFTER taking a remarkable second place in last week's 24 Hours of Dubai, Oliver Webb kept his 2016 podium streak going by claiming second place in the final round of the Asian Le Mans Series at the Sepang International Circuit Malaysia.

Filling in for ex-F1 driver Shinji Nakano for the second time this season, Webb and the Race Performance team went into the final round of the championship at the Grand Prix venue with a chance of taking the title after claiming third place at the previous round at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand.

The team needed to do nothing more than finish the race to ensure they took championship honours and after qualifying in second place, most of the hard work was done before the race even began.

Webb took the wheel for the opening part of the race, battling against the fierce Malaysian heat to keep hold of second place before passing the team's Oreca 03 R Judd prototype racing car over to team-mate Niki Leutwiler. …
