1965 MARCH 11: Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards is mobbed by fans after recording ITV's 'Scene at 6.30' show in Manchester.

The Granada weekday news magazine programme ran from 1963 to 1966 and was broadcast in the north of England only.

Leading bands of the day made guest appearances, usually miming to their latest singles. They included the Beatles, Chuck Berry, the Animals, Frank Ifield and Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas.

The Rolling Stones appeared at least four times. They performed their single Satisfaction in 1965.

1966 MARCH 9: United winger George Best sports an extravagant sombrero after his team had thrashed Portugese side Benfica in the quarter-finals of European Cup.
