THIS is what The Christie's new multimillion cancer research facility will look like if plans get the go-ahead.

The 'world-class' cancer research centre will replace the fire-ravaged Paterson Building on Wilmslow Road.

The Christie has published an image of the proposed new facility, known as the Paterson Redevelopment Project.

The remains of the Paterson Building are being bulldozed after it was destroyed by a fire in 2017.

Years of valuable research and key equipment were lost, and more than 300 scientists and support staff were displaced.

Within days, tens of thousands of pounds had been raised for Cancer Research UK to help rebuild it.

The vision for a modern 270,000 sq ft replacement has now been revealed.

The impressive build - which aims to be complete by 2021 - will house research labs, consultant workspace and a biological research unit. …
