PEP Guardiola has warned that football is heading for a serious incident unless action is taken to stop pitch invasions.

Some of his City players appeared to be jostled as Swansea fans went onto the pitch after the Blues had pulled off a 3-2 comeback win in the FA Cup quarter-final.

Aleks Zinchenko seemed to be approached by one supporter before security intervened. City players had gone over to the end housing the 3,300 Blues fans, who were celebrating victory after City had trailed 2-0 at half time.

That followed an earlier incident when a lone fan evaded stewards and ran onto the playing surface before being rugby-tackled to the ground.

In scenes reminiscent of last season's unsavoury trouble at Wigan, when jubilant Latics fans ran onto the field and one had a confrontation with Sergio Aguero, Swansea fans managed to get on the field. …
