Stones and Delph Pull out of Southgate's Euro Squad

JOHN STONES and Fabian Delph have pulled out of the England squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Montenegro through injury.

Stones was absent from City's 3-2 FA Cup quarter-final victory over Swansea on Saturday and has not featured for the Blues since going off injured 48 minutes into City's 1-0 win at Bournemouth on March 2. Delph was handed his first City start since January 23 for the trip to south Wales but was taken off on the hour mark after gifting the Championship side an early penalty.

The England duo joined Nicolas Otamendi in remaining at the City Football Academy for the international break after the centreback withdrew from the Argentina squad with an ankle problem on Sunday. City players Sergio Aguero, Aymeric Laporte and David Silva are not involved with their respective national teams and manager Pep Guardiola said after the win at Swansea that they will be put through their paces during the two-week break in preparation for the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup run-ins. …
