UNITED fans can be forgiven for not giving another thought to this season's FA Cup.

A 2-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday night ended their hopes of a trip to Wembley for another year, leaving them with just the Premier League and Champions League to focus on.

United are hunting down Arsenal and Tottenham in the league as they try to secure a top-four finish that looked unlikely while Jose Mourinho was in charge.

But with Maurizio Sarri's Chelsea only a point behind United there is still a chance that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his team could end up in sixth place.

If the worst-case scenario does happen, City could either help or hinder them for next season before a ball has been kicked.

Should Pep Guardiola's side win the FA Cup (and finish in the Premier League top five - they will do), then the team that finishes sixth in the league will go straight into the Europa League group stages. …
