'Yellow Vest' Activist Denies Assaulting a Photographer

'YELLOW Vest' activist James Goddard has appeared in court accused of assaulting a photographer at a rally in Manchester.

Mr Goddard, 29, is accused of assaulting Joel Goodman, while he was covering a demonstration in the city centre in February, on the day he was working for the M.E.N.

A police officer and a court security officer were also in court for the short hearing at Manchester magistrates court.

Mr Goddard arrived at court with two men who were wearing T-shirts emblazoned with the word 'security', as well as a number of supporters.

Before the hearing got under way, Mr Goddard walked into the courtroom and demanded members of the media be removed.

"I don't want the media in here, get them out, I want my family and friends here," he said.

He also labelled one journalist 'scum' and said he was a member of the 'far leftist BBC. …
