1970 March 21: It was ominous for Manchester City when former England striker Jimmy Greaves played his first match for West Ham at Maine Road. He had scored on his debut for every senior side he represented - Chelsea, Milan, Tottenham Hotspur and England.

In just ten minutes he had done the same in Manchester and then scored a second as West Ham thrashed City 5-1 in a one-sided First Division rout.

Greaves had only joined West Ham days earlier in a swap which took fellow England international Martin Peters to Spurs.

Alongside Greaves, right, on the Manchester train was new team-mate and England captain Bobby Moore.
