ROCHDALE boss Brian Barry-Murphy praised his side's second-half performance as they boosted their League One survival hopes with an impressive 3-1 win against Scunthorpe.

Goals from Aaron Wilbraham either side of the interval and a Kgosi Ntlhe strike were enough to win Dale all three points at the Crown Oil Arena and take them to within one point of safety with a game in-hand.

"In the second-half the lads really started to express themselves and showed a lot of confidence in what they were doing, which bodes well for the future," said the caretaker boss.

"The challenge for them now is to replicate that and get even better, so we will be working exceptionally hard this week to try and improve."

After a fairly even first half, which saw the sides go in level at the break thanks to Jordan Hallam's equaliser for the visitors, Rochdale simply overpowered Stuart McCall's men with a fine attacking display which leaves them with a real possibility of surviving the drop. …
