A Fine Mess. Drivers Call for Better Speed Limit Signs

Article excerpt

A SPEED camera has caused quite a row.

Thousands of drivers have signed a petition calling for better speed limit signs along Chester Road in Stretford after being fined.

Another driver, who regularly uses the route, said they received four tickets dated March 11, 13, 14 and 16.

They said: "It takes so long for the letters to come through so I ended up with several from the same week.

"The signs are terrible. When you come off the M60 going towards Stretford there is one 30mph sign, and the next one is after the area where the speed camera is, there is nothing else up until the traffic lights. …
