Group Mach makes rival offer for Transat

MONTREAL -- Quebec real estate developer Group Mach Inc. has outbid Air Canada by offering a $527.6-million takeover proposal for tour operator Transat AT Inc. which includes trying to convince the Quebec government to finance nearly one-quarter of the purchase.The $14 per share offer comes after Transat announced last month it was in exclusive 30-day negotiations to be acquired by Air Canada for $13 per share or about $520 million. SEC sues Kik over 'illegal' digital token sale

WATERLOO -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has sued Ontario-based Kik Interactive Inc. for conducting an "illegal" US$100 million securities offering of digital tokens.The securities regulator says that Kitchener-based company sold the tokens to U.S. investors in 2017 without registering their offer and sale, or providing proper disclosure, as required by U.S. securities laws. Slight home sales hike in Metro Vancouver in May

VANCOUVER -- Home sales in Metro Vancouver showed some bounce in May, but the Greater Vancouver Real Estate Board says sales remain below historical averages.The board says 2,638 homes changed hands in May -- the first time this year that sales jumped above 2,000 properties in a month.
