The New Democrats say Premier Doug Ford is wasting public money on partisan anti-carbon tax stickers to help Conservative leader Andrew Scheer get elected.

The provincial government has set a proposed date of August 30th for gas station operators to display the stickers -- just before the federal election campaign gets underway.

Those who don't comply will face fines of up to 10-thousand dollars a day and the government says it's developing enforcement plans that could also include unspecified Provincial Offences Act charges for owners.

The Ford government has said the stickers are about transparency but they don't mention carbon tax rebates provided by the Trudeau government and the Ontario Chamber of Commerce says owners view them as a violation of their rights and freedoms. (The Canadian Press)

A fan has now launched an online fundraiser seeking to raise 50-thousand dollars for Durant's charity foundation, which helps at-risk youth.

The fundraiser site says some people displayed the ugly side of fandom but that isn't right and it's not what the fan expected of fellow Canadians. (The Canadian Press)

Tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase.

The decision was made in case the Golden State Warriors win Game Six of the finals in Oakland, California on Thursday and force the seventh and final game in Toronto on Sunday. …
