The Washington version of must-see TV makes its debut this morning with the first public hearing in the impeachment inquiry into U-S President Donald Trump.

Cameras are in place in a House office building south of the U-S Capitol for the opening session.

All witnesses are providing evidence about Trump's efforts to tie American military aid money for Ukraine to investigations by that country of his political opponents.

But even if the Democrat-led House ultimately votes to impeach Trump, few expect the Republican-controlled Senate to actually remove Trump from office.(4)



More than two-dozen children aboard a school bus in Edmonton narrowly escaped serious injury yesterday when their bus collided with another vehicle.

Three of the children were taken to hospital as a precaution.

Some of the kids say a car ran through a stop sign.

Police say a charge is pending against the other driver.(4)



Young Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg (TOON'-burg) will board a 15-metre catamaran in Virginia this morning, bound for Europe with the hopes she'll arrive in Spain in time for the early December start of a climate confererence in Madrid.

Her ocean trip aboard the sailboat could take two to four weeks and will leave little-to-no-carbon footprint.

November is considered off-season for sailing across the Atlantic.

But as the temperature dipped to freezing, the teen who refuses to fly because of the carbon price of air travel said she's looking forward to being disconnected.

Thunberg is ending a nearly-three-month visit to North America where she delivered a speech to the United Nations and spoke at many climate rallies.

Thunberg said one stop that impacted her most was a glacier in Alberta's Jasper National Park that she says is destined to disappear ``no matter what we do. …
