A late fall storm blowing through parts of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia has prompted wind and rain warnings.

Strong winds expected in western Nova Scotia and southwest New Brunswick are forecast to spread eastward across the rest of the region early today.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is also possible with rainfall amounts of 20 to 50 millimetres across Nova Scotia and southern New Brunswick by tomorrow morning.

Mild temperatures are expected to lead to significant melting and run-off in areas with an existing snow pack.

The staff report rejects the Shannon Park site, but recommends moving ahead with a one-time payment of 20-million dollars for a facility elsewhere in the city.

Council will consider options that include choosing to amend staff's proposal, directing staff to further study the Shannon Park site, or turn down the staff recommendation and decline the request to support the stadium project.
