religious movement of 'German Christians'
D. KAPLER ON THE OCCASION OF THE CONFERENCE IN
LOCCUM, MAY 1933.
|i.||We want an 'Evangelical Reich Church of Lutheran Character' incorporating the Reformed congregations whose individuality will be guaranteed.|
|2.||We do not want a State Church and also not a Church as a state within the state, but an Evangelical Reich Church which acknowledges the National Socialist state out of belief and preaches the gospel in the Third Reich.|
|3.||The Evangelical Reich Church is the Church of the German Christians, i.e. the Christians of Aryan race. In this respect she is also linked with the German Christians in foreign countries. Preaching the gospel among people of a foreign race is the concern of Foreign Missions.|
|4.||This Church must neither be the focus of reaction nor a democratic‐ parliamentary debating forum.|
|5.||The Evangelical Reich Church will be sustained by the confidence of the nation and will be led by the Reich Bishop.|
|6.||The Evangelical Reich Church is to be divided into not more than ten Church provinces with a Provincial Bishop at the head of each.|
