At the end of the twentieth century, gambling is widely accepted and available in many locations of the United States. Government lotteries, casino and riverboat gambling, horse and dog racing, and the recent growth of Native American casinos have all contributed to the spread of gambling fever. Still, debate continues over the moral and ethical aspects of this national pastime.
