Teenagers choose suicide for many reasons, including depression, drug abuse, family problems, low self-esteem, suicide pacts, or combinations of these and other problems. Professionals and peer counselors who work with adolescents research the topic of teenage suicide in an attempt to understand the causes and to seek solutions to this tragedy.
